Dr. Chelva’s path to becoming a chiropractor reflects his lifelong passion for health, nature, and holistic wellness. Growing up in Toronto as a first-generation Canadian, he embraced the outdoors from an early age, whether playing basketball, enjoying family picnics, fishing, or having lakeside BBQs. These formative experiences fostered a deep connection to nature and physical activity. As he progressed through his education, Dr. Chelva’s interest in health care became evident. His early encounters with conventional medical settings left him yearning for a more personalized and integrative approach to wellness. This desire led him to pursue an Honours Kinesiology degree at the University of Waterloo, where he honed his understanding of exercise and rehabilitation through a diverse range of co-op placements. During his undergraduate years, Dr. Chelva discovered chiropractic care and was immediately captivated by its holistic principles. He was intrigued by the potential of manual health care to optimize the body’s natural functions, aligning perfectly with his belief in the importance of staying active and connected to nature. This revelation drove him to gain hands-on experience in chiropractic clinics, where he immersed himself in multidisciplinary health care. It was here that Dr. Chelva realized chiropractic care was his true calling, combining his interests in manual therapy, body function, and overall well-being. His commitment to this path led him to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, where he trained to become a chiropractor. Today, Dr. Chelva dedicates his career to educating others about the importance of proactive health and wellness. He focuses on helping individuals prevent injuries and enhance their well-being through a holistic approach that integrates his love for nature, physical activity, and manual health care.
